Tayō-sei Group Mentorship Program for Departing JETs

In partnership with JETAA USA and with funding support through the Japan-US Friendship Commission, USJETAA has launched the Tayō-sei Group Mentorship Program for 2024 Departing JETs! The program will take place online with the most activity anticipated leading up to departures (June, July & August). Approximately 50 JET alumni are serving as sempai mentors to share their lived experiences in Japan on JET. Sempai mentors have helped us identify a variety of special interest groups they can speak to such as BIPOC Latino, JETs with Partners/Families, LGBTQ+, Neurodivergent & Mental Wellness, etc. The Tayō-sei Group Mentorship Program is an opportunity for JET sempai to share their diverse range of experiences, wisdom and insights with departing JETs in a safe space. The goal is to equip departing JETs with a better understanding of what to expect and how to successfully embrace their JET experiences both for themselves and their JET communities during their time in Japan.

If you are a JET alum and want to sign up to serve as a mentor for any of our suite of Tayō-sei Programs in the future OR if you are a departing JET with questions, we encourage you to join us!
