Call for Writers

USJETAA is seeking freelance writers to write and publish articles that showcase and highlight JETs and JET alumni who are contributing in innovative ways to the US-Japan relationship.

We are looking for articles which inform potential JETs, current JETs, JET alumni and stakeholders outside the immediate JET community about the many professional and personal contributions JETs and JET alumni are making to the US-Japan relationship and/or highlight potential career paths for JETs and recent returners.

Articles should range between 700 to 1800 words and help illustrate the many ways we as JET alums are contributing to the US-Japan alliance—including grassroots connections at the people-to-people level.

Selected articles will be branded as USJETAA publications and will be disseminated through our newsletter, social media platforms, website blog posts, and other platforms. The articles will also be made available to JETAA Chapters to amplify through their own respective newsletters and with AJET for publication in their CONNECT magazine and any other platforms deemed appropriate.

The fine print:

  • We only print previously unpublished works.

  • Simultaneous submissions are accepted. Please notify us immediately if your work is accepted elsewhere.

  • Interested authors should see our pitch guidelines before sending USJETAA potential articles.
