Event Recap: JETAA Rocky Mountain Career Compass Workshop & Networking Event
IUSJETAA supported the JETAA Rocky Mountain chapter to host a highly successful Career Compass Workshop and Networking event on January 22, 2024. With over 25 participants in attendance, the event featured JET alum panelists, Jennifer Basco (Yamanashi, 2017-21) of Silver Sparrow Coaching, Emily Frank (Hokkaido 1993-96) of Career Catalyst, Claudine Locascio of Japan America Society of Colorado, and Takeshi Yamagishi of Quick USA.
Panelists discussed the Japan-related job market in the Rocky Mountain region, industry sectors that are trending in the Denver-metro area, how to translate soft skills learned on JET to your resume, strategic approaches to a long-term career trajectory and what pathways and opportunities are available to engage locally.
Attendees included early-professionals and mid-career professionals looking to pivot their careers along with established senpai who came out to support and provide networking opportunities. The event was such a big success, that JETAARM is hoping to add this to their annual line-up of events to serve their chapter membership.
