Professional Development Webinar Series
This newly launched webinar series is intended to provide guidance and instruction to JET alumni across the country on a variety of careers and professional development topics. Topics include "How to become a Japanese teacher after JET," "How to find a career," "You’ve finished the JET Program. Now what?" and many more. JETAA Chapter Grants Information Session
This webinar covesr the goals and requirements of the Chapter Grant program, the support available from USJETAA and Sasakawa USA, and the application process. There will be time to ask questions and discuss ideas that chapters are considering at the end.
This is the fifth year that USJETAA and Sasakawa USA have partnered to offer a competitive minigrant program for JETAA chapters and subchapters.
JETAA in the Time of COVID

The Reality of JETAA
This webinar covered the essential parts of running a small JETAA chapter – including guidance on developing a “national mindset,” utilizing existing national resources, and collaborating with one another and US JETAA to identify and address collective issues. This webinar gives chapter leadership the tools to make decisions and handle key issues. The webinar is for chapter leaders but anyone who is interested may join!
What’s the big deal about bylaws?
This webinar covers one of the most essential parts of running your JETAA chapter – BYLAWS! Bylaws are the guiding document that provides a roadmap on how to run your chapter, make decisions, and handle issues. This webinar will cover the purpose of bylaws, key things to consider, when/how to update your bylaws, and more. We will also discuss election best practices and how to include them in your bylaws.
501c3 Status Basics
Join USJETAA to learn how JET Alumni Chapters go through the 501c3 process. Our speakers will go over the pros and cons to obtaining 501c3 status, provide key recommendations for things to prepare in advance, and discuss any lessons they learned along the way.
