Strategies for Navigating Copyright Issues

Have you posted a photo on your JETAA chapter website or blog? Have you used music for a JETAA video? If you took that photo or music clip from online, then you want to make sure you aren’t violating copyright laws. Join us to hear speakers share their experiences in dealing with copyright issues and share advice and resources for avoiding these issues. Afterwards, we’ll answer any questions you have about copyright!
Speakers
Jennifer Murawski was an ALT in Tanabe, Wakayama in 2005-2007, and has worked in nonprofit-based educational outreach in Asian Studies and STEM since returning from the JET Program. She currently lives in Oakland, California.
After finishing JET, Kyle Munn (Shiga ALT ’06-’10) has spent the past eight years working in the communications and marketing space with a focus on how nonprofits can better communicate their impact. She now works as a strategic advisor for iContact, an email marketing platform that specializes in communications for small businesses and nonprofits. She also serves as the lead coordinator for JETAASE’s North Carolina subchapter and as a board member for Southern Bridge International, a nonprofit that helps Japanese expats connect with their new communities in North Carolina.
