Overview of Organization
The U.S.-Japan Council is a 501(c) 3 nonprofit educational organization that develops and connects diverse leaders to create a stronger U.S.-Japan relationship. Founded by Japanese Americans, the Council brings together leaders of the United States and Japan from across
backgrounds, sectors, and generations to partner for a better future for the Asia-Pacific region and beyond.
Position Summary
The Vice President works closely with the President and the Board to develop and set the strategic direction of the organization, as well as to develop and maintain relationships with partners, donors, and government counterparts in the U.S. and Japan. The Vice President also plays an important role externally in the organization, speaking at events and representing USJC publicly. The Vice President has lead responsibility for development/fundraising for the organization.
