Title: Outreach and Recruitment Specialist, Fulbright

The Fulbright Program is the flagship international educational exchange program sponsored by the U.S. government in partnership with binational Fulbright Commissions and U.S. embassies abroad. The Fulbright Outreach and Recruitment team at IIE is responsible for promoting Fulbright opportunities to a range of U.S. audiences, including faculty, administrators, artists, students, and professionals. With a primary focus on the Fulbright U.S. Scholar Program, the Outreach and Recruitment Specialist conducts recruitment activities that include: presentations at academic conferences and campuses, hosting webinars, and executing email marketing campaigns to reach highly specialized audiences. This position works across teams at IIE, and serves as a subject matter expert for the Scholar Program, as well as a subset of geographic regions including East Asia and the Pacific, the Middle East and North Africa. The Outreach and Recruitment Specialist will build networks of faculty and administrators at U.S. higher education institutions, demonstrate the strengths of the program to potential applicants, and inspire them to take up the challenge of representing the best of U.S. higher education to an international audience.
Develops a detailed and targeted outreach and recruitment plan in consultation with Outreach and Recruitment Manager and Director of Academic Relations.
In collaboration with other IIE team members, implements recruitment strategy and serves as a direct point of contact for potential applicants interested in The Fulbright U.S. Scholar Program.
Develops, maintains and supports key contacts at partner institutions. Interacts with institutions of higher education, scholarly associations and academic conferences. Interacts with other external constituencies, including program alumni, vendors, consultants and contractors, to professionally represent IIE and the Fulbright Program.
Plans and implements any electronic outreach program in collaboration with Communication team. Directs communication with pre-participants.
Tracks, monitors and supports production and/or distribution of outreach materials and information. Ensures correct brand usage in creation of all materials.
Drafts and review program reports.
Education and Work Experience:
Requires a bachelor’s degree in order to apply a working knowledge of the theories and principles in a specialized field or work discipline.
Requires at least five years of related work experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Advanced degree (e.g. MA, PhD, etc.) preferred.
Significant experience (8 years or more preferred) related to higher education with faculty & administrators.
Strong understanding of higher education environment, including area such as international programs, grants and sponsored research, and fellowship advising.
Ability to organize and handle a large volume of work under severe time constraints and pressures.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, public speaking and presentation skills.
Superior writing and editing skills and a thorough knowledge of the English language.
Demonstrates creativity and ability to suggest innovative yet practical solutions to new challenges.
Able to work as a team player- contributes to the team as well as handles tasks assigned by more than one supervisor. Knowledge of customer relationship management and database software.
Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel and Outlook and applicable outreach and recruitment mediums.
