Location: Flexible location – Texas, Washington, D.C., or Memphis preferred
Who We Are:
Transcend supports communities to create and spread extraordinary, equitable learning environments.
We fulfill this mission by focusing on two key priorities:
Supporting more communities to have far better designs: To scale up their work supporting design journeys of communities, so that more places are more successfully designing, building, and spreading extraordinary, equitable learning environments.
Making systemic change that enables innovation: To engage key actors in the field to create broader ecosystem conditions that positively impact communities on design journeys, by growing actors’ proximity to insights, voices, and evidence from work with communities and by learning from their perspectives and experiences.
The Opportunity:
The School Design Services team partners directly with school communities to reimagine, build, and spread innovative school models. In pursuit of these aims, the team facilitates in-person workshops and events, provides individualized coaching to school design teams, and organizes learning cohorts.
As an Operations Specialist, you will be the backbone of a School Design Services portfolio team: supporting the thoughtful planning and successful execution of these experiences with our partners (both in-person and virtual) and providing essential project-management, communications, and logistics support to ensure smooth operations for Transcend’s internal portfolio teams. You will ask the important questions and listen closely, so that you design and lead operations with the user at the center.
In this role, you will get to:
Lead and manage operations and logistics for various workshops and events, learning experiences, and redesign cohorts, both virtually through zoom and in-person (when safe to do so).
Craft and manage operations-focused communications with internal staff, school partners, and our learning cohorts and communities.
Mastermind travel plans and coordinate with local vendors such as venues, hotels, transportation, and meals.
Spearhead smooth internal operations such as project management, scheduling, preparing agendas, taking notes, and capturing (and managing follow-through on) next steps.
Support team special projects like planning team stepbacks, designing school application processes, creating internal team websites to organize resources, and creating and updating cohort websites through a website builder platform.
Who You Are:
You have a user-centered approach to managing operations on a team, both internally and externally. You have a keen eye for details, love to craft and manage smooth logistics, and build strong relationships with others to implement excellent organizational systems when planning experiences and events. You take initiative, manage your time effectively, and take great pride in your stellar organizational systems. Additionally, you thrive in a fast-paced environment when things can change quickly and operate with resolute calmness!
And above all, you love that your everyday work is in service to a mission that matters. You believe deeply in the power of education to change lives, and you are energized by contributing your love of all things operations to this cause.
