The Center for Asian Studies at the University of Colorado Boulder invites applications for a non-tenure track full-time instructor position in Asian Studies. A PhD is required at the time of appointment. Any Asian Studies related discipline or field of specialization will be considered. The appointment begins August 2020. We seek an Asianist to teach a suite of courses required as part of the Asian Studies BA, including Gateway to Asian Studies, the Senior Capstone Seminar, as well as lower and upper division courses related to the instructor’s field of specialization. We are particularly interested in candidates who could teach a new course in Southeast Asian Civilizations. The position also assists with overseeing the Center’s Asian Internship Program. The successful candidate will contribute to growing the Asian Studies program and maintaining the Center’s undergraduate research publication, The Colorado Journal of Asian Studies. While candidates with experience living or teaching in any region of Asia will be considered, preference will be given to Southeast Asia as a growing regional focus within our Asian Studies program.
