Nippon Television is one of the largest commercial broadcasters in Japan.

The Washington DC News Bureau is responsible for covering political affairs in the United States for our Japanese audience.

As a producer and researcher, you will be responsible for monitoring and summarizing political news and information from Washington and beyond.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

*attend press briefings and write up summarized memos

*monitor daily news sources

*research various news media for interesting stories

*set up interviews

*in-house editing/recording video feeds

*assist reporters in creating daily news stories and long term feature stories which are sent to Tokyo for national broadcast.

The ideal candidate would be conversational in Japanese, have good writing and typing skills, and have strong interest and knowledge of journalism, political and international affairs. They would also be open to travel and available to work extra hours as the situation dictates.
