Summary:
The Network Course Manager is responsible for supporting the planning, development, implementation, and administration of Open Society University Network (OSUN) Network Courses. Network courses are designed by faculty from multiple institutions and taught simultaneously on several OSUN campuses. Faculty meet in teams to collaborate on the design of a syllabus that shares some common aspects like readings, assignments, and synchronous and asynchronous work to foster dialogue amongst students.
The Coordinator supports network course faculty, works with the OSUN Secretariat in the planning and development of network courses, and oversees the day-to-day operation of network course planning and implementation. The Network Course Coordinator reports to the Vice Chancellor of the Open Society University Network/Vice President for Academic Affairs of Bard College.
Bard College’s main campus is in Annandale-on-Hudson, N.Y., with 1,900 undergraduate students; the College also includes multiple graduate programs. The 1,000-acre campus sits along the Hudson River and offers the Fisher Performing Arts Center, and Hessel Museum of Art, and is the home of the Bard Prison Initiative, the largest college-degree-granting prison education program in the U.S. The Bard Network also includes several Bard High School Early Colleges across the country as well as international campuses and partnerships. The Bard Network is complex and demonstrates Bard’s priorities well in addition to the College’s emphasis on civic engagement.
