Marketing Research & Analytics Manager – The Hill (NYC or Washington D.C.)

Working in The Hill’s Marketing Team and reporting to the SVP Marketing, the position will support revenue-generation across The Hill’s O&O cross-platform products and assets, including TheHill.com, Hill.TV and Video, The Hill’s print product, and The Hill’s Events and Branded Content offerings. Responsibilities include:

  • Lead qualitative and quantitative research projects from initial concept to study design to fielding, packaging and reporting of findings to internal stakeholders and external partners and clients, including but not limited to:
  • Proprietary research studies
  • Audience insights panels and surveys
  • Custom ad effectiveness and brand surveys
  • Creative effectiveness studies
  • Category and industry/sector research and market trend studies
  • Manage and mine compelling data insights on an ongoing basis utilizing syndicated research tools such as comScore that position The Hill’s unique offerings in the media marketplace to advertising and agency clients and prospects
  • Serve as the point person for analytical support for the marketing and sales organization and other key departments
  • Manage existing relationships with third-party research vendors, and source and recommend new vendors, tools and platforms that will elevate The Hill’s offerings in the marketplace
  • Develop and maintain dashboards to track audience growth, audience engagement and trends and provide efficient ongoing reporting to marketing and the sales organization
  • Create audience segments and targeting solutions for client media plans and campaigns utilizing The Hill’s DMP
  • Write/design general presentations, proposals and client pitches positioning and presenting The Hill to advertising and agency clients (as needed)

The ideal person will

  • Have 3+ years experience
  • A creative and analytical mind with a passion for creative storytelling through data-visualization and for communicating data insights in creative and unique ways
  • Broad-based knowledge of the media marketplace and proficient knowledge of and experience with Digital Media
  • Experience with syndicated research such as comScore and Google Analytics
  • Experience developing, fielding, packaging and reporting proprietary and custom research studies
  • Experience developing and/or managing an audience insights panel a plus
  • Experience using a DMP a plus
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent consultative listening skills to understand client objectives and develop targeted solutions
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to juggle multiple projects on tight deadlines
  • Proficiency in Microsoft excel; experience with keynote a plus
