The Department of Asian Languages and Cultures at UW-Madison is inviting applications for a full-time Japanese Language Teaching Faculty position to teach all levels of Japanese Language for English-speaking college students. The appointment begins on August 22, 2022.
Job Summary: Teach two to three language courses per semester. Duties include teaching and/or co-teaching multiple levels of Japanese language courses, supervising Teaching Assistants when applicable, and developing teaching materials and new courses. Must be willing to plan and participate in various on- and off-campus activities to enhance and promote Japanese language study.
Education: Master’s degree in applied linguistics, language education, linguistics, second language acquisition, or a related field required.
Qualifications: Demonstrated excellence in teaching multiple levels of Japanese language to English speakers at the college level for a minimum of three years required. Experience of supervising Teaching Assistants preferred.
