Instructor of Japanese Language and Culture – 2020 High School Summer Abroad Program (Kyoto, Japan)

Plan and prepare for each day’s lesson, including the development of communicative, task-based activities that help students meet learning objectives connected to Can-Do Statements and an established curriculum
Teach participants in a classroom setting, Monday – Friday, 9 am – 12 pm, for approximately 4 weeks
Provide participants with timely, informative feedback during in-class activities and through class assignments against a rubric on Canvas
Meet with co-instructors, Program Leaders, and Program Coordinator once a week to ensure students are meeting learning outcomes and that the program standards are being met

Native speaker or native speaker equivalency
At least 1 year of language and culture teaching experience; 3 or more strongly preferred
Experience teaching high school students strongly preferred
Experience with communicative and task-based teaching methods
High level of English proficiency, as training will be provided in English
