The U.S. Japan Exchange and Teaching Alumni Association (USJETAA) offers exceptional opportunities for students considering a career in U.S.-Japan relations
We are currently seeking one (1) Fall 2018 intern to support current initiatives, which include activities promoting the U.S.-Japan relationship, cultural, educational and people-to-people exchange. Interns will be working from a small office in a team-oriented and fast-paced environment. Duties include, but are not limited to, research and writing on issues affecting the United States and Japan, disseminating information via social media, posting on the USJETAA website (job opportunities, scholarships/fellowships, events, and blog posts), participating in meetings and seminars, writing reports, supporting program-related and grant-making activities, and assisting the Executive Director.
Applicants must be current undergraduate or graduate students with excellent Research, Writing, Internet, Communication (including comfort handling occasional telephone calls), and Organizational skills. Interest in Japan and/or Japanese language, social media, and marketing are desirable. Preferred major are International Relations, Japan Studies, Asian Studies, Marketing & Communications, or related majors.
Hours can be flexible to accommodate class schedules, but a time commitment of at least three days a week is required. The internship is unpaid. USJETAA will reimburse local transportation costs. Students may earn school credit for the internship experience if approved by their university.
