Job Description
The Executive Director, under general direction, provides leadership for departmental functions to include planning, directing, and evaluating departmental operations. Provides oversight of business activities, strategic planning and development, and program administration. Functions as departmental liaison to customers and represents the University on various committees. Serve as the University Ombudsman and will resolve conflicts and problems.
Responsibilities:

Leads and manages the International Programs department (Study Abroad, International Student Services and International Advising), including planning, directing, supervising and evaluating staff, operations and programs. Provides oversight of business activities, strategic planning and engagement, and program administration.

Develops and maintains strategic partnerships with institutions in select countries; establishes and provides oversight of agreements with overseas institutions of higher education; secures and offers grant opportunities for international travel by faculty and students, intensive language training for faculty, international training for graduate students, and the hosting of scholars from abroad for short-term visits to PVAMU .

Disseminates news and information on international scholarship and activities; and provides support and immigration services for international students, faculty, and visiting scholars.

Collaborates with Enrollment Management, in support of international student recruitment and retention; functions as departmental liaison to various stakeholders and represent the University on various committees; maintains effective relationships with external, regulatory, and funding bodies as required.

In partnership with Academic Affairs, oversees the B-Global Quality Enhancement Program of the university; reimagine and, in partnership with various offices (including International Programs, Multicultural Affairs, LGBTQ Plus Resource Room, Commuter Room, and the Women’s Center), manages program as an intercultural center; establishes and oversees a university intercultural programming and support committee; advises the Office of the President on official protocol for visits of international dignitaries to the university.

Required Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree.

Ten years of related experience in higher education.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
-
Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications.

Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
-
Master’s degree.
-
Experience working with faculty and curriculum activities.
