Developmental Education English Instructor – College of the Marshall Islands (Majuro, Marshall Islands)

Company: College of the Marshall Islands
Title: Developmental Education English Instructor
Salary: Full-time, $25,137 to $33,515 USD annually
Location: Majuro, Marshall Islands

 

The successful candidate will teach Developmental English courses in the combination of listening & speaking, and reading & writing in an ESL environment. The selected candidate may also teach the First Year College Experience course. Other responsibilities will include departmental and college service, academic advising, and outcomes assessment. There are also opportunities to develop and shape a new course in the area of expertise and to do research.

Essential Function 1: Teaching 15 credits per semester.

Essential Function 3: Participating in on-going assessment and alignment of courses, programs, and services.

Essential Function 4: Providing services in support of the ongoing advancement of the Developmental Education
Department and the institution as a whole.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience

A Master’s Degree in developmental education with specialization in English instruction, speech and communication, special education
Experience teaching listening & speaking, reading & writing in developmental or remedial setting.
International ESL teaching experience.
Teaching Competencies – Able to demonstrate online teaching – Successfully maintain student engagement.
