Assistant/Associate Instructor – Academic Enrichment Program – New York University Abu Dhabi (Abu Dhabi, UAE)

Position Description
The Academic Enrichment Program at NYU Abu Dhabi invites applications for a full-time Associate/Assistant Instructor position to support students in academic coursework at New York University Abu Dhabi with a start date in August. NYUAD’s Academic Enrichment Program (AEP) is an academic program designed to prepare Emirati students for meaningful participation within a diverse liberal arts and research university. The program fostering academic curiosity and inquiry-based learning, vocabulary development, argumentation, discussion ability and research methods that scaffold learning and provide solid preparation for student engagement in the liberal arts university. The successful candidate will support academic coursework within the Academic Enrichment Program and throughout NYUAD’s academic programs.

The Program seeks candidates from the Humanities and Social Sciences who have experience and are interested in supporting students in language development, diversified instruction, academic writing, critical reading and thinking skills. Candidates should demonstrate expertise in one or more of the following fields: identity politics, nationalism, or global history. Ideal candidates will have experience working with students from diverse educational and linguistic backgrounds. The appointment is a one-year contract, beginning in August 2021 and is potentially renewable subject to a probationary review at the end of the first year.

NYUAD is looking for creative individuals who are flexible, outgoing, open to new environments, collaborative and respectful of diverse backgrounds and learning styles. Applicants should have a minimum of two years of experience teaching writing at a college or university.
