Ushiku, directed by Ian Thomas Ash, (Tochigi, 2000-2003) is a documentary on detainees at the infamous Ushiku immigration centre seeking asylum in Japan. Ushiku will be screening in the Electric Shadows Asian Film Festival in Antwerp, Belgium on September 5. The film was recently named one of Asian Film Festivals‘ eight films you shouldn’t miss. Ushiku can also be screened On Demand in the US from August 30-September 9 in the I Will Tell International Film Festival and in Korea from September 9-16 in DMZ 국제다큐멘터리영화제 DMZ International Documentary Film Festival.
