Escape to Okinawa’s verdant shores through the dazzling colors and designs of its most famed fabrics, those patterned with the uniquely Okinawan dyeing technique known as bingata. The first major exhibition of this art form in the U.S., "Bingata! Only in Okinawa" introduces the Ryukyu Islands’ history and culture through traditional bingata masterpieces and contemporary works by Okinawan artists and designers. Organized by the George Washington University Museum and The Textile Museum, and the Okinawa Prefectural Government.
