Utamaro and the Lure of Japan is the long-awaited celebration of Japanese art at the Wadsworth Atheneum. With more than 50 paintings, prints, textiles, porcelain, and armaments taken from the Atheneum’s 1,000-object collection of Japanese art, the exhibition fully explores for the first time the depths of the museum’s holdings in this area.
